Cumbria Scratch League
2010 Rules
1. The matches are to tee off between 17.15 hrs and 18.15 hrs.
2. The matches are to be played in exact handicap order. All players must have an active handicap. Anyone playing with without an active handicap will have their points nullified.
3. Each match consists of two teams of six players. If a team is struggling to field a full side, they should take as many players as is possible so as to complete as many matches as is possible. Points are awarded per match as follows....... 2 points for a win, 1 point for a half, and nil points for a defeat or a non appearance. If, in exceptional circumstances, there is a requirement to cancel a match then the opposition team captain and the scratch league secretary must be given 24 hours notice.
4. The host club shall provide a one or two course meal for both teams after the game.
5.The entry fee is £50 per team, payable to the CUGC before the leagues commence.
6. There shall be five divisions for 2010...... North Premier, North, West, South Premier and South 2.
7. Winners will be awarded as follows, the five division winners will receive £100 each, the Scratch League playoff Champions will receive £400, with the runner up receiving £250, and the losing semi finalists receiving £150.
8.Qualification for the finals day play offs is as follows, winners of the North Premier and South Premier Divisions qualify automatically. The winners of North and West Divisions play off and the winner goes to the finals day play offs, and gets promoted to the North Premier Division. Winners of South 2 Division and the runner up of the North Premier Division play off with the winner going through to the finals day play offs.
9. Winners of South 2 Division gets promoted to South Premier Division, and bottom team of South Premier gets relegated to South 2.
10. Bottom team in North Premier gets relegated to either North or West depending on the geography.
11. Electronic distance measuring devices are permitted as long as they are not able to determine speed and direction of wind.
12. If a match is rained off before play commences, a new date is to be agreed for the match to be played.
13. All disputes are to be addressed to the Scratch League Secretary. The Secretary's decision is final.
