Gary Lockerbie was winner of the Carris Trophy in 2000 and played a leading role in England's victory in the Boys Home Internationals at Portmarnock later the same year. In 2002 he finished third in the Greek Amateur in September, finished tied sixth in the Lytham Trophy and eighth in the Brabazon. He also played a major role in steering Cumbria to their first title in the Northern Counties League. Lockerbie represented England in the Spanish and Portuguese Amateur Championships in 2003. Also in 2003 in early August he won the English Amateur Championship at Alwoodley in Leeds. That led to his debut in the Home Internationals at Ballybunion and since then he has represented England across the world, visiting South Africa, Australia, Spain and the United States. This year he has won the unningdale Foursomes with professional Paul Jenkinson,
the Lytham Trophy and was joint third in the St Andrews Links Trophy. Gary took
fifth spot in the Scottish Amateur Championship. Currently leads the 2005
PING/EGU Order of Merit.
