Junior Team Event 2008 – Results

This year’s event was played in freezing conditions with occasional swirling snow showers but this did not deter Cumbria’s junior golfers and there were some excellent scores. Barrow’s Dean Reynolds topped the leader board with 43 points and a further 17 players carded par or better.

The Barrow ‘B’ Team were the worthy winners of the 2008 Junior Team Event Trophy at Maryport. The winning team was: Dean Reynolds (43 points), Matthew France (40 points), Will Marklew (35 points) and Mark McAloone (28 points). The best three scores were added together to give the overall total of 118 points.

Workington ‘B’ were second with 107 points although the result was not confirmed until the final group’s scores came in. The Workington boys were: Seb Nixon (38 points), Sean Hoskins (38 points), Adam Shuttleworth (31 points) and Ryan Shillito (30 points).

The trophy and prizes were presented to the two teams by Cumbria Union of Golf Clubs Honorary Treasurer and President Elect, Tom Stout.
